Hey y'all, I've realised that being on Tumblr has really just been upsetting me and stressing me out lately, so I'm going to move over some stuff that I want to keep, and then delete this blog and set up a new blog that's just Star Trek and Doctor Who focused, since they're much less discourse-laden fandoms. It'll be the same URL (autisticiantojvnes) if you want to follow me

selfreblog moving over my stuff is slow going but is still going on so this blog isn't getting deleted anytime soon but stuff will be disappearing

honestly andy robinson and alexander siddig get ten million pulitzer prizes tonys etc for the nexus for the sole fact that it actually acknowledges how horrible it truly was that julian was augmented like that and how traumatic it undoubtedly was for him. like literally the ds9 writers WISH they had the skill to simply write a narrative or even a single scene that doesn't let abusive parents off the hook for literal eugenics because "they meant well". julian's flashback to before and after his augmentation as a child... man. "they just did something to help you, son. it's like they gave you a shiny new hard drive! a brand new os!" the man talks to his six year old son like he's a malfunctioning machine. even just READING the play with no visual aspects i can practically feel julian's terror when his father blows up at him for messing up his abc's and the way he's shaking and babbling and nearly crying when he comes out of the flashback... yeah. yeah.
